Mission Statement:
The Marbletown Arts Association (a non-profit
organization) is dedicated to bringing diverse forms of art before the
public by sponsoring exhibitions, performances and other arts-related
events. The MAA promotes the value of art to society by offering scholarships
to young artists in the community and schools and support to artists
in the form of professional programs and networking. Through the
appropriate educational, economic and cultural resources, the MAA aims
to enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of our citizens,
bridge cultural differences and increase appreciation of the arts within
our community.
About Us
The members of the Marbletown Arts Association represent all media
and styles of art making, as a glance through this website will illustrate.
As a social, cultural and a professional organization our members
derive as many different benefits as there are forms of art.
We present the annual Art Harvest Festival held in the autumn to
showcases the work of our area's talented artists. This event has
garnered awards and has become a tradition in our region. It includes
an annual art exhibition, film screenings, musical cabaret performances,
literary readings, and hands-on creative workshops. In addition to
the Art Harvest, MAA events include Illumination: music
and lantern-making under the stars, Pumpkin Carving Contest and Exhibition,
holiday Art Gift Fair, informal salons and much more.
Proceeds from these events benefit the MAA
Scholarship Fund that
annually awards scholarships to area high school seniors who are continuing
their education in the arts. Since it's inception, the MAA has given
out just under $25,000.
We invite you to participate-either as an artist or as someone who
appreciates and supports the arts. Creativity, vitality, and energy
come in many forms. We hope you will join us as a member of
the Arts Association or as an active participant in future events.
The Marbletown Arts Association was established in 2000. |
