Pastels
with Vincent Connelly
Sept 20 - Oct 1
" Sometimes I wonder if I am painting nature or not.
Sitting in a field or on a roadside, I see my work as a vehicle to go from one
place to another.
Weather it be a large field or barn, they are both the same."
- Vincent Connelly, Artist Statement.
My media is pastel and oil on paper. My reoccurring theme is the landscape. Turner
and Wolf Kahn are my main influences although I admire Cezanne greatly. My pastels
have a very poetic atmospheric feel while my oils are atmospheric with a more
physical awareness of the paint.
The workshop will consist of a studio tour and demonstration on historic Mohonk
Mountain. Learn the secrets of a master painter who has developed his technique
from a lifetime of study and exhibitions. The afternoons will be spent drawing
and painting the scenery that has inspired the artist.
Cost $175, limited to 10 students.
